Honoring our women on International Women's Day.

A woman will make a home out of a house, a woman will turn a quiet house into a home full of laughter and love from your kids, a woman will support you when you are down, she will feed you when you are hungry and comfort you.

The women around us play important roles in every sector of our lives, and the society at large. Your mother gave birth to you and nurtured you, your sister was there as a mini mother watching you from going astray, your female friends protected you from the Cougars, your girlfriend stood by you through those tough times, your wife still cooks your meal even when your pay-check stopped coming and believed in you.

I am a product of a do it all by yourself mother who acted as a father and a mother, my messenger, my masseuse, my comforter, my nurse, my teacher, my motivator, my carer, my cook and my life coach. I know the struggle you all have to go through daily as a woman.

To the single mothers - every step you struggling through right now is an investment that shall ripe soon enough and you will look back and simply smile at all the stress and give thanks that it's all worth it after all. No pain no gain they say.

Happy International Women's day to all struggling women, all independent women, all single mothers, all women striving so hard for that self-empowerment either through education or a trade.

You can be whatever you aim to be if you believe in yourself. Your children are watching and they will follow your footsteps and not your advice.

We are proud of you
We celebrate you
We are thankful
Thank you for all the support from childhood and still ongoing.

Give the women in your life a special treat today in appreciation because they are special.

Amaka - The Story Of A Village Girl And Her Race Against The Tide Of Poverty.

Amaka – The Story of a Village Girl and Her Race against the Tide of Poverty. Amaka was born in a small village near Nnewi in Anambra state, southeast of Nigeria. She was born into a family of 6 including her parents. The father was a retired soldier who fought in the civil war and now a local palm wine tapper while the mother is a full-time housewife looking after the home and the children. She is the first child of the house and this comes with a lot of challenges as she is practically the mother to her siblings and sees to their wellbeing day in – day out. Amaka is a very ambitious and focused young lady with a dream to make a difference, not only in her life but the life of her siblings too and help her parents along the line out of poverty. A village girl with a tall dream – She had to make a sacrifice by dropping out of school so her siblings can at least get some as well. She couldn’t finish her junior years unfortunately while her siblings are aiming to at least ge...

Your Relationship And Unhealthy Competition.

Your Relationship And Unhealthy Competition. It's not unusual to see people comparing their relationship to that of friends or colleagues. This is very unhealthy no matter what angle you are seeing it from. To start with - the person you are comparing your situation with might be in a worse one actually, you are only being told what you need to hear and not the actual picture of their situation. Also - what works for Mr. A may not work for Mr. B. The fact that you think your mate is having a better relationship than yours does not mean that their partner might be better for you or their modus operandi can be applied to your relationship. Unnecessary exposure of your situation does not help anyone but it complicates the matter, you are now not only the center of gossips among friends but now you are more confused with various suggestions and advises from different quarters. When you and your partner eventually sort your issues out, you have to deal with y...

Prayer + Action = Success

Prayer without action is powerless and a road leading nowhere but ruins. I am not a religious person but I am a believer, not many people can tell the difference. I have nothing against religion; however, there must be a defined line between being religious and being stupid. Prayers do get answered, I know as I am a living testimony. When you start leaving everything to God to handle while you sit on your bum then that's pure laziness. Sleeping in the church or mosque doesn't make you a righteous person neither does that guarantee you a front seat in heaven. There are no 99 virgins for anyone that blow him or herself up on earth - common sense; you can't find a virgin in your village how much more in the city and now heaven? You can't even ask girls out! It's no rocket science! Any religion that preaches killing another man is not a religion; if yours do then you need a new religion if necessary. You don't have to be in a Church or Mosque fo...
